Naval Mission Management Systems

LYNCEA is HENSOLDT´s embedded naval surveillance and defence CMS for patrol boats and surveillance frigates. It allows a tactical picture to be created, maintained and monitored using on-board sensors (radar, optronics, sonar, EWE, AIS, ADS-B, LDT).

To ensure nations have the  resources to combat criminal and illegal activities, HENSOLDT has developed this system with capabilities such as automatic detection of suspicious behaviour, increased interoperability and a broad array of integrated systems. The LYNCEA product line is composed with Vigilante for civilian or governemental agencies (Export Free), Patrol, Combat (including effector management), Defend (for asymetric threats) and Command for military platforms. LYNCEA can be also completed with the LYNCEA mobile version, LDT (L11/L22, Link P) and other tacticle tables for ships or headquarters. LYNCEA integrates also UAV payloads and C2 capabilities.  

LYNCEA CMS is a combat-tested system, with French Navy and foreign Navies.

Degaussing / Active Shaft Grounding

Electromagnetic discretion is essential for naval defence vessels. To achieve this, HENSOLDT offers magnetic degaussing solutions and active shaft grounding systems.

HENSOLDT  has a long history of designing and installing magnetic degaussing solutions on naval platforms, including warships, submarines and frigates. Its systems are extremely reliable and are tailored to meet the specific needs and requirements of each installation perfectly.

Our systems are available with different power levels, and use either a “centralised” cabinet-based architecture with an air/water heat exchanger cooling system, or a modular “decentralised” architecture with naturally cooled cabinets.

We also supply our customers with active shaft grounding systems to protect ships’ and submarines’ shafts and bearings against electrolytic damage.

These active systems offer significantly better protection than the passive systems typically found on the market, regulating and significantly reducing the current that flows between the shaft and the hull via the bearings.

ARGOSIA is a powerful mission management system designed for deployment on airborne surveillance and reconnaissance missions over maritime spaces to support air-sea and air-land operations.

ARGOSIA is built on a robust software core designed to collect, process and display detection data from integrated sensors to establish a recognised tactical overview of the battlespace. Its package of sophisticated decision-support tools gives the crew advanced tactical situation assessment capabilities.

The ARGOSIA mission management system is available in a range of customisable configurations, from the most basic solution for light ISR aircraft to the most comprehensive system architecture for maritime patrol or C3ISTAR applications, meeting every possible requirement of intelligence-gathering or air-based ground surveillance missions.

Counter UAV Solutions

Several incidents within the last years revealed that there is a rapidly emerging threat caused by small, cheap and commercially available UAVs. Armed and security forces as well as critical infrastructures and high level events are exposed to increasing threats by misused UAVs.

Threatening situations may result from thrill seekers who fly drones into prohibited areas or above people and facilities. But also from much graver illegal uses such as espionage, smuggling, sabotage or terrorism. Drones can record video or microphone as well as carry and drop prohibited items, toxic materials or even explosives. The threat from drones should not be underestimated.

The Xpeller Counter UAV solution combines various types of sensors and effectors for protection against small drones in any situation. It can easily be configured to individual needs, whether for security or military applications. The Xpeller workflow towards countering the UAV threat is based on a multi sensor/effector layer and a four step workflow of detect, identify, control and act.

All Xpeller configurations are based on standard off-the-shelf equipment for all-weather conditions and an intuitive, multi-sensor command & control software (C2).
